Siemens to supply two HVDC converter stations for the Danish Storebælt Project
05/14/2007 | As part of Denmark’s Storebaelt power transmission project, Siemens is constructing both converter stations for the high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) route between the islands of Funen and Zealand. The 400-kV connection with a power rating of 600 MW will link the Western with the Eastern Grid. This will increase the reliability of the Danish power supply by enabling the exchange of electrical energy with other parts of the country via the new power link.
