Substation automation system meets all requirements of small industrial plants and power supply systems right up to the high and extra-high voltage level

The Sicam PAS substation automation system is based on a platform of industrial components, allowing it to withstand the harsh ambient conditions encountered in transformer substations. It works with standard industry hardware and embedded operating systems and is designed as an open system. In addition to standardized data transmission processes, it also provides user interfaces for performing plant-specific tasks such as energy automation.
With its modular, scalable hardware and software, the substation automation system covers all requirements of small industrial plants and power supply systems right up to the high and extra-high voltage level. The integrated parameterization, testing and diagnostics program simplifies startup and fault analyses in the primary systems. The automation system can be linked to a local HMI system such as Sicam PAS CC or connected to the office IT via an OPC interface (Object Linking and Embedding for Process Control).
The substation automation system supports communications standard IEC 61850 for the interlinking of equipment at bay and substation automation level. Data communications between devices can run via a redundant 100-Mbit/s Ethernet fiber-optic ring that complies with IEC 61850. This cuts the device reaction times and simplifies the setting of parameters.
