New managing team for Siemens Wind Power GmbH

Erlangen, Germany, December 21, 2007

Dirk Wernicke takes over the post of managing director and head of engineering for Siemens Wind Power GmbH in Bremen. Together with Gernot Ziegeldecker as head of commercial administration for Siemens Wind Power GmbH, this com-pletes the new managing team in Bremen. The company is responsible for sales and service of Siemens wind turbines on the German market.

"Our strength lies in a mixture of know-how gained from years of experience in this field, proven technology and close proximity to our customers", said Wernicke. "We, as a company headquartered in Bremen, still focus a major part of our energy on the Ger-man market. We also aim to use our local strengths to support our customers by provid-ing convincing solutions for new markets."

The new managing director, Dirk Wernicke is succeeding Norbert Giese, who is leaving the company at his own request. As of 1999 Giese held the post of managing director of AN Windenergie GmbH, with this company acquired by Siemens in November 2005. "We would like to thank Norbert Giese for the excellent discharge of his duties over the past eight years and wish him all the very best for the future", said Wernicke. Giese will continue to assist Siemens Wind Power GmbH in a consulting capacity.

Following a doctorate in thermodynamics at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Dirk Wernicke started his career at Siemens in 1997. He held various posts in project management, strategy and sales. His previous position was head of global sales for industrial gas turbines within Siemens Power Generation.
