The SST-050 is a single-stage turbine, geared for generator or mechanical drive. It is pre-engineered, including blading, as a cost effective solution with a power output up to 3 MW. The SST-050 is available in two sizes. The model for the lower power range includes an integral gearbox, whereas the upper range uses an external gearbox. The bigger wheel diameter of the upper range allows for higher mass flow. Otherwise the turbine concept is the same for all standardized SST-050 turbines.
