The Bornstedt Wind Farm is located in the Magdeburger Börde region in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. An inland area far away from the seashore and well known for it’s significant number of clean energy producing facilities harnessing the wind. No surprise, as this region is one of the most privileged areas in Germany with regard to the wind situation.

The offshore turbines are placed in a parallelogram with 8 rows of 9 units each. The nearest turbine is installed 10 kilometers from shore.

Nysted Offshore Wind Farm is the world’s largest offshore wind farm, measured by installed capacity. The 72 turbines were installed in 81 days, and the project was taken over one month ahead of the original schedule.
